My Content Is Not Rendering Full Width

< 1 min read

Canvas renders Custom HTML blocks at full width with no container around them. If your content is sitting in a narrow column instead, here’s what to check.

  • Confirm Canvas is the active theme. Go to Appearance, Themes. If another theme is active, its container width is what you’re seeing, not Canvas.
  • Confirm the content is in a Custom HTML block. Passthrough applies to Custom HTML blocks. Content in other block types can carry their own block markup and constraints.
  • Look for a width you set yourself. A wrapping element with a max-width, a centered margin, or a container class in your own markup will constrain the content. Canvas renders exactly what you wrote, so a width in your markup is honored.
  • Check your head and body code. A global CSS rule you added through code injection can constrain content site-wide.

Canvas doesn’t add a container of its own, so a narrow result traces back to one of these rather than to the theme.
